WHEN GOD SAYS MOVE: Coming from Joshua 1:1-9

Dear Church Family,

There are moments when we know it is time to take a step forward, but fear and uncertainty hold us back. We wonder whether we are ready, whether we are strong enough, or what will happen if we fail.

Joshua faced such a moment after Moses died. Before him stood the Jordan River and the land God had promised. Behind him were forty years under Moses’ leadership. Now he had to trust God and move forward.

God’s assurance to Joshua speaks to us today: we do not have to face the next chapter alone.

We cannot change yesterday. We may carry grief, regrets, or disappointments, but our past does not have to keep us from answering God’s call today. The God who carried us through earlier seasons is still faithful in this one.

Following Him does not mean every step will be easy. Joshua still faced rivers, walls, and battles. We, too, will encounter difficult decisions and days we do not understand. A difficult road does not necessarily mean we are on the wrong road. Through prayer, Scripture, and obedience, we can keep seeking God’s direction.

Our confidence rests in His presence. We do not need every answer before taking the next faithful step. Courage grows as we trust that God will walk with us, even when we are afraid.

As you reflect this week, consider what step God may be asking you to take. Perhaps it is offering forgiveness, serving someone in need, returning to prayer, or placing your faith in Jesus Christ. Bring that step before the Lord and ask Him for wisdom and courage.

God never calls us forward without going with us.

May we hold that truth close and move forward with faithful hearts.

With love in Christ,
Bill
